The city of Duncanville is located in the southern part of Dallas County, Texas. The city recorded a population of 38,524 in the 2010 census. The households were just 12,896 concentrated over an area of 10.3 sq. miles. The population was estimated to be about 39,400 people.
The city’s history dates back to 1845 when Crawford Trees acquired a large tract of land. The Texas-Mexican Railway reached the area in 1880. This was the beginning of settlement in this area that began with the construction of Duncan Switch. Later in 1882, the first postmaster in the area the name of Charles P. Nance renamed the settlement Duncanville. Since then, many other structures were constructed, and the also place acted as the landing base for the Army during World War II.
